I am an author. Fourteen books, five music albums, and more rejection letters than I care to count. I know what it feels like to submit your work into silence — and to receive feedback so vague it could apply to any manuscript on the planet.
I built Wild Hearts Publishing because the system was broken in a very specific way: the authors who needed real feedback the most were the ones who got the least of it. Traditional publishers don't explain rejections. Literary agents have 300 queries in their inbox. Developmental editors cost thousands and have month-long waitlists.
I wanted authors to have access to the kind of detailed, craft-focused feedback that used to cost thousands and take months — in fifteen minutes and for $149. Not because I wanted to replace human editors, but because most authors never even make it to a human editor. They give up first.
The AI does the fast, systematic work. The human editors do the nuanced work. You get both.
“Stay Wild. Stay Human.” is not a tagline. It's what I actually believe about writing: that the stories worth publishing come from the parts of us that resist being optimised. The AI in our system is a tool. Your voice is not.
The question I get most is: why use AI for something as human as storytelling?
Because speed and honesty matter. Because most authors wait weeks for feedback, then get a two-line rejection that tells them nothing. Because I wanted authors to have access to the kind of detailed, craft-focused feedback that used to cost thousands and take months — in fifteen minutes and for $149.
The AI we use is not a general chatbot. It is four specialist editors, each configured for a specific dimension of craft — Technical Quality, Voice & Engagement, Structural Integrity, and Market Readiness. Each one has been trained on its specific task. A human Senior Editor then reviews all output, removes false positives, adds contextual insight, and writes the consolidated report.
We also work with 21 genre experts — because a literary fiction editor and a thriller editor are not interchangeable. Genre conventions matter. Reader expectations matter. AI that ignores those differences gives generic feedback. Ours doesn't.
Marketing comes later — when your book deserves to be marketed. We'd rather lose a sale than help you publish a manuscript that isn't ready.
“Every story worth writing is worth publishing honestly.”
“Authors shouldn't have to choose between speed and quality.”
“Your rights are yours. Full stop.”
